FBI Hate Crime Statistics report states Gay men are targeted in US

The FBI recently found out that, out of the 19% of hate crime reported from the last year, most of them likely sprang out by the anti-LGBTQ bias. Nearly 1200 people were attacked based on their sexual orientation. Statistically, 1 out of 5 attacked in hate crimes are either Gay or Transgenders according to the reports.
Hate crime against Gay
Comparing to the year of 2017, the number of attacks in 2018 increased by a moderate number. Report states that roughly the attacks are increased by 17% per year. But the hate crimes from year 2017 to 2018 has been increased by 34%.
According to the Gallup, an American Analytics and Advisory company, of the total population of US, the LGBTQ community sums up to a minimum of 4.5%; but the FBI records the hate crimes comprise to 18.5% against the community.
Hate crime
The hate crime number has increased in the last 2 years after more than a decade. The US has about 16,000 law enforcement officers involved voluntarily in the Hate Crime Statistics Program but only 2,026 officers have reported the crime incidents.
