When the entire internet world was struggling to understand what this name meant, Elon Musk appeared on a podcast show and confirmed the name’s pronunciation. The pronunciation is pretty straightforward apparently.
Musk said that the name is pronounced “X Ash A Twelve.” Musk said that Grimes came up with the name. He gave a brief description of what the name meant. He said, “I mean it’s just X, the letter X, and the ‘Æ’ is pronounced, ‘Ash,’ and then, A-12 is my contribution which stands for Archangel 12, the precursor to the SR-71, coolest plane ever.”
